中国关工委主任顾秀莲调研湖北关心下一代工作

2020年11月2日至5日，第十届全国人大常委会副委员长、中国关工委主任顾秀莲，中国关工委常务副主任武韬赴湖北省出席“全国关心下一代教育基地”挂牌暨捐赠仪式，调研关心下一代工作情况。

    在恩施市，顾秀莲在小渡船街道办事处机场路社区详细了解关工委工作情况，实地调研湖北民族地区乡村振兴示范点——恩施市白杨坪镇洞下槽村，出席在硒都民族实验小学举行的“中国关心下一代教育基地”挂牌暨捐赠仪式，这是我省第二所获此殊荣的学校。在武汉市，顾秀莲听取湖北省关工委工作情况汇报，湖北省关工委主任苏晓云介绍湖北经济社会发展及关工委建设情况，省关工委常务副主任周祖元介绍今年以来全省关心下一代工作情况及下步工作打算。

    调研中，顾秀莲高度肯定湖北关工委工作。她指出，湖北省关工委在省委、省政府高度重视和关心下，在相关部门特别是组织部门、老干部工作部门大力配合支持下，各项工作取得显著成效，多年来始终走在全国前列，具体表现为“五个注重”，即注重理论武装、注重调查研究、注重抓载体创品牌、注重组织建设、注重整体水平提升。特别是今年以来，湖北省关工委在疫情大考中弘扬“五老”精神，克服各种困难，想方设法办实事做好事解难事，为打赢疫情防控阻击战贡献了力量。湖北省各级关工委要在习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想指引下，认真学习贯彻党的十九届五中全会精神和即将在北京召开的中国关工委成立三十周年表彰大会精神，在新的历史背景下创新思维、创新工作方法，不断巩固“老”品牌，培育创造新品牌，在新时代、新征程中体现新作为。

Gu Xiulian, Director of the China National Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation (CNLCNG), Investigates Work on Caring for the Next Generation in Hubei Province

Editor's Note: On July 24, 2026, Su Xiaoyun, Minister of the United Front Work Department of Hubei Province, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial People's Congress, and Director of the CNLCNG, passed away at the age of 75. On May 18, 1990, the Central People's Broadcasting Station and the People's Daily published news that the Central Committee had approved the establishment of the CNLCNG, with Xi Zhongxun and Wang Renzhong serving as honorary directors and Kang Shi'en as director.

From November 2 to 5, 2020, Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress and Director of the CNLCNG, and Wu Tao, Executive Vice Chairman of the CNLCNG, visited Hubei Province to attend the unveiling and donation ceremony of the "National Education Base for Caring for the Next Generation" and to investigate the work on caring for the next generation.

In Enshi City, Gu Xiulian learned in detail about the work of the CNLCNG at the Airport Road Community of Xiaoduchuan Subdistrict Office, conducted on-site research at Dongxiacao Village, Baiyangping Town, Enshi City—a demonstration site for rural revitalization in ethnic minority areas of Hubei Province—and attended the unveiling and donation ceremony of the "National Education Base for Caring for the Next Generation" held at the Xidu Ethnic Experimental Primary School, the second school in Hubei Province to receive this honor. In Wuhan, Gu Xiulian listened to a report on the work of the Hubei Provincial Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation. Su Xiaoyun, Director of the Hubei Provincial Working Committee, introduced Hubei's economic and social development and the construction of the Working Committee. Zhou Zuyuan, Executive Deputy Director of the Hubei Provincial Working Committee, introduced the province's work on caring for the next generation this year and future plans.

During the inspection, Gu Xiulian highly praised the work of the Hubei Provincial Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation. She pointed out that, under the great attention and care of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and with the strong cooperation and support of relevant departments, especially the organization department and the department responsible for veteran cadres, the Hubei Provincial Working Committee has achieved remarkable results in various aspects of its work, consistently ranking among the top in the country for many years. This is specifically reflected in "five focuses": focusing on theoretical education, focusing on investigation and research, focusing on creating platforms and brands, focusing on organizational construction, and focusing on improving the overall level. Especially this year, the Hubei Provincial Working Committee has carried forward the spirit of the "Five Olds" (veteran cadres, veteran teachers, veteran soldiers, veteran workers, and veteran workers) during the major test of the epidemic, overcoming various difficulties and finding ways to do practical things, good things, and solve problems, contributing to winning the battle against the epidemic. The Hubei Provincial Working Committees for the Care of the Next Generation at all levels should, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, earnestly study and implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of the upcoming commendation conference commemorating the 30th anniversary of the founding of the China Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation to be held in Beijing.
