2010年9月8日，国务院国资委副主任金阳在参加第二届世界投资论坛和第十四届投资贸易洽谈会开幕式后，在福建省委常委、常务副省长张昌平的陪同下，专程前往厦门航空有限公司（Xiamen Airlines Ltd.，简称“厦航”）进行视察。当前正值全党深入开展创先争优活动和党的十七届五中全会即将胜利召开的重要时刻，厦航总经理车尚轮就厦航创先争优工作及基本情况进行汇报。金副主任肯定了厦航26年来的发展业绩，更期望未来厦航在党的指挥下进一步做优做强做大。中国南方航空集团公司（China Southern Air Holding Company，简称“南航集团”）总经理司献民和省、市国资委领导陪同视察，厦航总经理车尚轮、党委书记洪荻生率领导班子全程陪同。
在职工活动中心，金阳副主任一行参观了厦航图片展览区，详细了解厦航发展历程、服务两岸直航情况以及职工文体活动。在篮球馆，厦航第十六期飞行员正为即将举行的迎新晚会排练，热情的音乐、活力四射的舞蹈引来视察团一行驻足观看，金副主任关切询问厦航飞行学员的情况，得知这些飞行学员均来自国内各优秀高校后，不住微笑点头。

金明副主任一行来到飞行部，受到热烈欢迎。飞行部总经理杜利首先向金副主任简要介绍厦航目前飞行人力资源情况、安全管理理念等。在飞行部开展“创先争优”活动的墙报前，金副主任深入了解厦航飞行队伍的党员比例情况，指出“应该把技术骨干发展成党员，把党员培养成技术骨干”。在实行24小时值班、为飞行员解决后顾之忧的航务处，金副主任满怀关切地说：“你们辛苦了！”金副主任随后视察了飞行准备室，对机组规范严谨的准备，特别是严格落实检查单制度表示肯定。
乘务分部的微笑墙引起大家驻足关注，在随后对乘务分部调度室、礼仪文化走廊、荣誉室的参观中，金副主任了解到厦航乘务分部已建立起规范有序的管理机制，培养了一支专业有素的服务队伍，金副主任一边点头，一边指出乘务员的工作不仅是简单的服务，应从各方面提升整体素质，打造优秀团队。

随后，在由厦航党委书记洪荻生主持的工作汇报会上，厦航总经理车尚轮首先从厦航党组织、党员、组织架构、机队、航线和经营、资产、税收等方面介绍了厦航基本情况，并从抓班子自身建设、抓基层党组织和党员队伍建设、抓航空安全与队伍稳定、致力创造更好的经济效益和社会效益、努力打造更优服务品质、着力推进公司科学发展等六方面汇报了厦航深入开展创先争优活动的情况。
金副主任认真听取汇报后，对厦航在开展创先争优活动中取得的成绩表示肯定。他强调，中央企业、国有企业承载国家安全和国家经济命脉发展的重要使命。在厦航感受到独具特色的企业文化，积极向上的企业氛围和艰苦奋斗的优良传统，厦航26年的发展离不开每一代厦航人的努力拼搏，希望厦航干部员工牢记光荣使命，在党的领导下，立足本职岗位，以实际行动做好各项工作，创造优秀业绩，进一步做优做强做大，不辜负福建省委省政府、厦门市委市政府的期望。
福建省委常委、常务副省长张昌平表示国有企业在国民经济发展大局中肩负重要历史责任，金副主任的讲话，对包括厦航在内的福建省所有国有企业既是鼓励鞭策，也指明了今后的发展方向。南航集团总经理司献民肯定了厦航既是福建省和厦门市的一张亮丽名片，也是南航引以自豪的在闽子公司，今后可借鉴厦航经验，进一步加强南航集团的建设。
