1994年10月 – 1998年2月,51岁的郭国三任中共河南省委副秘书长、省委办公厅主任;

Xi Jinping removed from his post as Chairman of the Central Military Commission. A look at Shi Yongxin’s factional affiliation and his relationship with Xi Zhongxun’s chief secretary. Shi Yongxin and Qi Xin. Wang Yi removed from his post as Foreign Minister.
Hello everyone,
Let’s first talk about the matter of Shi Yongxin, abbot of Shaolin Temple. Then we’ll talk about Xi Jinping’s position as Chairman of the Central Military Commission.
The Shi Yongxin saga is getting bigger and bigger, with several versions circulating.
Let me analyze Shi Yongxin’s factional affiliation.
Do monks have factions? Shi Yongxin is the vice president of the Buddhist Association of China.
If the president is at the ministerial level, the vice president is at the vice-ministerial level.
Vice-ministerial level officials do have factions. In other words, what kind of monk is Shi Yongxin? He’s just a vice-ministerial level official.
We will focus on analyzing the relationship between Shi Yongxin and Xi Zhongxun.
Several versions of the Shi Yongxin incident have already emerged.
Recently, the internet has exploded with rumors that Shi Yongxin, abbot of Shaolin Temple, has been taken away for investigation. As soon as the news broke, it was all over WeChat groups and Moments, with some believing it and others doubting it. What exactly happened?
The first to break the news was a self-media outlet called “Media Party.” The article didn’t name names, only stating that the abbot of a thousand-year-old temple in Central China, surnamed “Shi Moumou,” had been taken away, with the specific reason unclear. But anyone with a discerning eye could see it was referring to the Shaolin Temple and Shi Yongxin, given the obvious labels “thousand-year-old temple” and “abbot surnamed Shi.”
The strange thing is that “Media Party” claimed to have several cross-sources confirming the rumor’s veracity. An insider close to Shi Yongxin also revealed that it’s unclear whether the “senior monk” was cooperating with an investigation or had gotten himself into trouble.
Soon after, another self-media outlet, “Chasing the Moon and Counting Stars,” also published an article, saying that through media friends in Henan, they had contacted an insider who confidently stated that Shi Yongxin had indeed been taken away, specifically mentioning that “this time it might not be related to the economy.”
To verify the claims, “Chasing the Moon and Counting the Stars” contacted Mr. Zheng, the person in charge of external relations at Shaolin Temple. However, after the call connected and the person introduced themselves, Mr. Zheng hung up without saying a word. This reaction, neither confirming nor denying, only fueled further unease.
Public information shows that Shi Yongxin’s last public appearance was on May 5th, 2025, presiding over a grand Dharma assembly at Shaolin Temple. He hasn’t made any public appearances since, adding further weight to the rumors. This is the first key piece of information regarding Shi Yongxin, directly related to Xi Jinping.
Speaking of Shi Yongxin, his story is quite complex. Born in 1965 in Yingshang, Anhui, his secular name was Liu Yingcheng. In 1981, at only 16 years old, he went to Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng, Henan, to become a monk, taking the then abbot, Elder Xingzheng, as his master.
In 1986, he spearheaded the establishment of the Shaolin Temple Kung Fu Research Association. A year later, after the passing of Abbot Xingzheng, the 22-year-old became the director of the Shaolin Temple Management Committee, taking charge of temple affairs and establishing a Shaolin Temple martial arts team. In 1988, seeing the difficulties faced by villagers in accessing medical care, he also organized the establishment of the Shaolin Temple Red Cross Society.
In 1994, he established the Shaolin Temple Charity and Welfare Foundation, dedicated to poverty alleviation and disaster relief. In 1996, he also founded the magazine Zen Dew, gradually promoting Shaolin culture. In 1999, he officially became the 30th abbot of Shaolin Temple, subsequently establishing the Shaolin Culture Research Institute and proposing the concept of “Shaolin Studies.” In 2001, he even jumped on the bandwagon by creating the Shaolin Temple website, making him one of the earliest religious figures to embrace the internet.
In 2006, he received an “International Honorary Doctorate” from the American Academy of Physical Education. In 2008, he opened a Shaolin Temple Taobao store, selling meditation supplies and cultural and creative products, making a name for himself with “Buddhist-style e-commerce.” In 2012, he became the president of the Henan Buddhist Academy, and in 2020, he was elected vice president of the Buddhist Association of China, further increasing his fame.
However, with fame comes controversy. The most controversial issue is the commercialization of Shaolin Temple; some say he turned the ancient temple into a “money-making machine.” More seriously, a few years ago, he was publicly accused by a “close disciple” of violating precepts, having an illegitimate daughter, embezzling temple property, and driving luxury cars.
Later, relevant departments investigated and stated that some of the allegations were untrue, and some were unsubstantiated, but they also pointed out that Shaolin Temple’s finances and management did have problems. But not long after this, in 2022, he was again criticized and trending on social media for a 452 million yuan land transaction.
At the time, a digital technology company acquired commercial land in Henan New Area. One of its shareholders was Yuanx Industrial, and the ultimate beneficiary was Shi Yongxin. Everyone questioned, “Why is Shaolin Temple getting involved in real estate?” He explained it was “for cultural dissemination,” that the shares were “held on behalf of others,” and the profits went to the temple, but few believed him.
When news of his arrest broke, some speculated it was related to the previous land transaction, while others said insiders had stated it wasn’t economic, suggesting something else. But these are all just speculations, without any concrete evidence.
The second important piece of information is that it’s unrelated to economics. He repeatedly emphasized this.
This year, he secretly went to the Vatican to compete with the Western Catholic Church, engaging in a fierce battle. Even the abbot couldn’t win despite using 72 special techniques.
This claim suggests Shi Yongxin secretly met with the late Pope Francis.
I think this is unreliable. Shi Yongxin has been the vice president of the Buddhist Association for over 20 years. Doesn’t Shi Yongxin understand this basic rule? Even if Shi Yongxin isn’t a secret underground member of the CCP,
he is still an official under the CCP’s jurisdiction, having been under its leadership for two or three decades.
How could Shi Yongxin possibly meet with the Catholic Pope privately? That’s absurd.
If this photo is genuine, Shi Yongxin did indeed meet with Pope Francis.
That was approved by the CCP’s United Front Work Department; why would he dare to go? How could he possibly go privately?
We see that Xuecheng was still the Secretary-General in the seventh term, and by the ninth term, he was already the President.
Shi Yongxin was still the Vice President.
Why did Xuecheng resign?
On August 1, 2018, Shi Xianjia and Shi Xianqi, former supervisors of Longquan Temple, released a 95-page report under their real names, listing numerous illegal acts by Shi Xuecheng, the abbot of Beijing Longquan Temple, including sexually assaulting multiple female disciples, using various methods to mentally control female disciples, “dual cultivation” (sexual practices involving men and women), illegal construction of temples, and unaccounted-for large sums of money. Geographical Reference Information
On August 15th, at the third meeting of the Ninth Council of the Buddhist Association of China, Xuecheng resigned as President, Standing Director, and Director of the Buddhist Association of China.
On August 23rd, the official website of the State Administration for Religious Affairs released a report on the investigation and verification of allegations against Xuecheng and Beijing Longquan Temple, confirming that the allegations of Xuecheng sending harassing messages, illegal construction at Beijing Longquan Temple, and the whereabouts of large sums of money were true, while the sexual assault allegations were under investigation.
Later, the matter was dropped.
It is said that Shi Yongxin will also be arranged to retire in a small temple, just like Shi Xuecheng.
Then this scandal escalated.
On July 27th, a “police report” regarding “Shaolin Temple Abbot Shi Yongxin and 34 others attempting to flee to the United States but being intercepted by relevant departments” circulated online, attracting attention. The latest response from Kaifeng police: the image circulating online is fake.
On July 26, 2025, Abbot Shi Yongxin of Shaolin Temple, accompanied by 34 people, 7 mistresses, 21 children, and 6 temple staff, entered Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 11:21 AM, intending to flee to Los Angeles, USA, on China Eastern Airlines flight MU583. They were intercepted by relevant authorities.
The police only stated that the official report was false, without daring to confirm whether Shi Yongxin’s arrest was true or false.
Therefore, China’s so-called denials are truly disgusting.
Who does the Kaifeng Public Security Bureau think they are? Those idiot police officers have no idea whether Shi Yongxin has been arrested or not.
The director of the Kaifeng Public Security Bureau is only a division chief or deputy division chief.
Shi Yongxin is a vice-ministerial level official. What could the Kaifeng Public Security Bureau possibly know?
If Shi Yongxin has been arrested, it would be by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
What right does the Kaifeng Public Security Bureau have to know? And yet they’re here issuing these so-called denials. They know nothing and yet dare to issue denials.
They think they represent the truth.
So-called “debunking” is simply believing one can represent the truth.
It’s actually ignorance. Ignorance breeds fearlessness. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection is investigating, and a small Kaifeng Public Security Bureau dares to issue debunking reports here? One day their bureau chief will be arrested too.
Shi Yongxin’s faction is actually easy to figure out.
Aren’t there just two people in Henan? Li Changchun and Li Keqiang.
Only these two suspects. Only Li Changchun and Li Keqiang were ever members of the Politburo Standing Committee.
The others weren’t even Politburo members; it’s either Li Changchun or Li Keqiang. Politics.
Many online claims say Shi Yongxin is Li Changchun’s henchman.
The matter isn’t that simple.
In 1993, Shi Yongxin led a delegation to Taiwan for a performance. Shi Yongxin said that he was only able to go after reporting to the then Henan Provincial Party Secretary. After returning from this performance exchange, Shi Yongxin was elected as a director of the Buddhist Association of China. In 1993, the then Henan Provincial Party Secretary was Li Changchun.
In 1995, Shaolin Temple held a grand ceremony to celebrate its 1500th anniversary. In his autobiography, Shi Yongxin stated that to gain local government support for the celebration, he learned that the then-Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee was going to Beijing and which train he would be taking. He immediately bought a ticket for the same train and boarded to lobby the Secretary for the celebration preparations, gaining his support. Afterwards, Shi Yongxin’s political standing significantly improved. In 1995, the Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee was still Li Changchun.
In December 2003, the Fifth Henan Provincial Buddhist Representative Conference was solemnly held in Zhengzhou, attended by 102 representatives from the province’s Buddhist community. Based on discussions and deliberations among the representatives, the conference fully promoted democracy and elected the Fifth Council of the Henan Provincial Buddhist Association and a new leadership team. The council consisted of 59 members, including 35 standing council members. The president was Shi Yongxin; the vice presidents were Miaoxia, Yinsong, Xinguang, Yinle, Xinfang, and Yanjie; the secretary-general was Xu Ganxiang; and the council invited Master Haibo as an advisor.
In 2003, Li Keqiang was the Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee.
This doesn’t make sense. Is Shi Yongxin Li Keqiang’s henchman? (Geographical Reference Information)
In December 2003, the Fifth Representative Conference of Henan Provincial Buddhism was solemnly held in Zhengzhou, attended by 102 representatives from the province’s Buddhist community. Based on discussions and deliberations, the conference fully promoted democracy and elected the Fifth Council of the Henan Provincial Buddhist Association and its new leadership. There were 59 council members and 35 standing council members. The president was Shi Yongxin.
From July 27th to 30th, 1998, the Henan Provincial Buddhist Association held its Fourth Representative Conference in Zhengzhou. The conference revised the association’s constitution according to the new situation and elected a new leadership. The president was Shi Yongxin.
In other words, Shi Yongxin was already the president of the Henan Buddhist Association.
When Li Keqiang became the Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee in 2003, Shi Yongxin was only re-elected.
However, please note that July 1998 is incorrect; Li Changchun left in February 1998.
Shi Yongxin was definitely promoted in 1998, and he may have remained in office until now.
That means Shi Yongxin has been the president for 27 years, and Li Keqiang couldn’t possibly remove him.
So, was Shi Yongxin promoted by Ma Zhongchen, the then Secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee?
Ma Zhongchen was also a henchman of Zhao Ziyang. Li Keqiang was promoted by Zhao Ziyang.
Guo Guosan (February 1998 – December 2002)
From October 1994 to February 1998, the 51-year-old Guo Guosan served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Party Committee Office.
Guo Guosan served as Li Changchun’s chief secretary and Director of the Provincial Party Committee Office for four years.
As soon as Li Changchun left Henan, Guo Guosan was dismissed and transferred to the position of Minister of the United Front Work Department.
At that time, the Minister of the United Front Work Department was not necessarily a member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
Guo Guosan is not a member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. He is only the head of the United Front Work Department. The United Front Work Department oversees Buddhism.
When Shi Yongxin served as the president of the Henan Buddhist Association in 1998, Guo Guosan, the head of the Henan United Front Work Department, was Li Changchun’s chief secretary.
The United Front Work Department is in charge of Buddhism.
Where is Xi Jinping?
In October 2003, 37-year-old Shi Yinle was appointed by the Henan Buddhist Association to preside over the work at Baima Temple. At that time, the president of the Henan Buddhist Association was Shi Yongxin.
On May 5, 2025, Shi Yongxin made his last public appearance.
From May 14 to July 17, 2025, Peng Liyuan disappeared for two months.
On the afternoon of May 19, 2025, Xi Jinping visited Baima Temple.
The abbot of Baima Temple, Shi Yinle, whom Xi Jinping visited, was promoted by Shi Yongxin.
There are two explanations: one is that Xi Jinping went to Baima Temple in Henan to rescue Shi Yongxin, but failed.
Secondly, Xi Jinping had no idea that Shi Yongxin had been arrested, yet he still went to the White Horse Temple.
Regardless of the explanation, it all points to Xi Jinping losing power.
This is a pure slap in the face.
Why was Shi Yongxin arrested so soon after Xi Jinping went to the White Horse Temple?
Either don’t arrest him, or don’t send Xi Jinping there in the first place.
Where is Xi Jinping’s father, Xi Zhongxun?
Guo Guosan, the head of the United Front Work Department of Henan Province who promoted Shi Yongxin, was formerly the honorary president of the Henan Confucian Culture Promotion Association.
President Hou Zhiying was formerly the propaganda minister of Henan Province.
Hou Zhiying had a close relationship with Han Jingcao, the then secretary of the Henan Provincial Party Committee.
This all happened in the early 1980s. I can’t be entirely certain about their factions, but I can say they had connections.
At that time, there was a First Secretary, and the provincial party secretary was equivalent to a deputy secretary.
Han Jingcao was formerly the secretary-general of the Northwest Bureau, and Xi Zhongxun was the secretary of the Northwest Bureau.
The anti-Party figure Xi Zhongxun that we usually see is this photo.
We found a new photo, still of the anti-Party figure Xi Zhongxun.
This is Han Jingcao, Secretary-General of the Northwest Bureau. Han Jingcao was formerly the Propaganda Minister of Xinjiang.
This means that Guo Guosan, the Henan Provincial United Front Work Department Minister who promoted Shi Yongxin, was the Director of Li Changchun’s General Office.
Guo Guosan and Han Jingcao, who is likely a henchman of Xi Zhongxun, are related; at least both are from the Northwest Bureau.
The Northwest Bureau cannot have only one faction; it must have three.
When Xi Jinping visited the White Horse Temple, Shi Yongxin may have already been arrested.
The abbot of the White Horse Temple, Shi Yinle, was promoted by Shi Yongxin.
On the 25th, Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, met with visiting Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Munir in Beijing.
Zhang Youxia said that the relationship between the Chinese and Pakistani militaries is an important pillar of the bilateral relationship. Both sides should resolutely implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen strategic communication, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and work together to promote regional peace and development and build a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era. He hoped that Pakistan would continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions in Pakistan.
