2012年9月21日9时许，凤台县刘集乡前靳村村民徐志科，因其弟媳在排矸路被矿车轧伤要求赔偿一事，带领其亲属二十多人将新集三矿大门围堵。分局接到报警后，立即安排治安大队民警前往现场处置。民警在了解清楚事发原因后，一面向围堵村民做好法制宣传和疏导工作，控制局势恶化，一面督促矿方责成矸石承包者前来现场进行处理。当日15时许，在分局民警积极协调下，承包者与伤者家属初步达成赔偿协定，使矛盾迅速化解，围堵人员自行撤离，矿区生产秩序恢复正常。事后，民警就徐志科在事发前一天，酒后到矿上闹事，并辱骂矿党委书记一事进行调查取证，将依法严肃处理。
